The Automobile and Fashion Museum of Málaga celebrates that tomorrow, Friday, turns 6 years old since it was inaugurated. September 16th was inaugurated the Automobile and Fashion Museum in the building of the old tobacco factory, this space has contributed to develop the tourism and cultural potential of Costa del Sol capital.
The Museum starts its sixth year setting out a new project related to the haute couture collection. A new exposition that can be visit from tomorrow in the museum: “Too much is never enough”. The exhibition consists of: Spectra, Constellation, Underground, Sherezade, y From Darkness to Light.
We only do extraordinary things, as the banality is repetitive and a thing of the past. As the celebrity Paris Hilton says “The only rule is don’t be boring”. In this exposition you will find art comedy masks of Giacomo Casanova, Grace Jones or Arsene Lupin; spooky rock skulls of the black masses; wig like jewels inspired in important balls like the Bal de la Rose in Monaco, Dior hats of the fifties with veils with gemstones like in the film One Hundred and One Night and headlamps like headdresses.
An exposition dedicated to our big friends and visitors; thanks to them we have reached the first position on Trip Advisor top attractions in Málaga. We want to surprise our clients with innovations and opt for a XII Museum. It is a multicultural space that likes everyone regardless credo or age. Moreover, the visitors are our reporters, because they full the social networks with compliments in different languages.
Since the opening in 2010, the Automobile and Fashion Museum has opted for a different concept of Museum that is an attractive cultural and events space in Málaga city.
A route by all the artistic evolution of the 20th century that starts with a collection of almost eighty cars and extraordinary exposition of vintage hats under the name “Balenciaga a Schiaparelli”. Since that time, the Automobile and Fashion Museum has increased even more its collection of almost a hundred of vehicles and Haute Couture. It has become a point of reference because is one of the most important collections of automobiles, fashion and art in the world with an incalculable economical, historical and cultural value.
An accessible Museum committed to quality and marked character in Co-operative Social Responsibility (CSR) contributing actively in social, economic and environmental improvement. The web responsive is adapted to the visitor’s needs. Moreover, the Museum has international presence in important events like the collaboration with The People’s Republic of China or the contacts with Shangai Auto Museum.
The owner of the collection, Joao Magalhaes, has carried out an exhaustive work as a fashion archaeologist for six years. Thanks to the close relationship with the fashion world and as a result of the personal influence of elegant look of her mother and her experience in the textile industry. Malgahaes has travelled around the world to collect unique and original designs. From antiquaries in Paris like Madame Françoise Auget, an important reference in Fashion capital and a big friend of Paul Poiret, to auction houses like Sothebys and Kerry Taylor from London, New York, Los Angeles and The Vegas.
Currently, Maga Sublime Collection by Automobile Museum count with over two hundreds of pieces in a total of eight expositions that puts together the most important haute couture brands: “From Mariano Fortuny to John Galliano”, “Trilogy”, “Floresta’s Cocktail”, “Apotheosis”, the large hats collection “From Balenciaga to Schiaparelli”, “Fashion Victim”, “Spectra” and “Too much is never enough”.
