Because of the Disability Week, the Accessibility Area of Malaga City Council has presented an activities program to make known the reality, the characteristics and the needs of this collective in Málaga. For this reason, the Automobile and Fashion Museum instals in its main hall one of these activities.
From 29th November until 4th December, for the first time in the Automobile and Fashion Museum, people with reduced mobility will have the opportunity to enjoy the experience and the sensation of driving thanks to the adapted Formula 1 Simulators. The simulators have a high quality, designed for experience and enjoy the emotion and feeling of driving in a circuit, in fact, the steering wheel are replicas of the Ferrari driven by Fernando Alonso.
This free activity could enjoy from 29th November until 3th December and the schedule is from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00.
Over these four days different activities have been programmed, in which will analyse the relations between the society and disabled people. Moreover, these activities want to highlight the disabled collective’s difficulties to participate meaningfully under the same conditions as the rest of the citizens. This week is about making aware of the needs of this collective, especially a personalized attention to delete the barriers that impede the total integration.
Since the Museum opened on September 2010, the architecture let the visitor access without any impediment and they can go across the rooms without obstacles that cause discomfort or problems. A proof of the openness and accessibility is the ramps and the parking. The Museum received the award Distintivo de Accesibilidad. This award is given to the business that works to eliminate physical barriers.
We also offer a guided visit directed to disabled persons, this special visit includes not just an oral explanation about the cars, but also the possibility of touching the cars. The visitors have braille texts available that describes the artistic and automobile evolution from the end of XIX century until today.
Also, if the visitors want to know the collection on its own, they can use the QR codes that will find in the signs, because the Automobile and Fashion Museum is pioneer in this system. A total of 100 codes in all the rooms and let the visitors discover on its own this art space accessible for everybody.
