The Automobile and Fashion Museum of Málaga has the pleasure of presenting its new collection “Too much is never enough”. Too much is never enough for us, this collection hasn’t went unnoticed for anyone from its inauguration on September 16th. We invite you to take time off of your busy schedule to contemplate and enjoy the collection, as many others did.
You can visit five different scenes: Sherezade, Spectra, Constellation, Underground and From Darkness to Light.
Sherezade
Dior headdresses from the 50’s covered with veils with gemstones like in the film One Hundred and One Night and combined with great elegance with Chanel, Dior, Nina Ricci, Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent and Oleg Cassini garments.
Constellation
Wigs like jewels and decorative elements inspired in 20th century important balls, where the ostentation has no limits. The orders of lavish dresses were so many that they collapsed the haute couture boutiques for months. Within the dresses collection, we present a dress from Jikki boutique that participated in one edition of the the Bal de la Rose, where is the royalty and worldwide celebrities.
Spectra
A mix of fantasy, mystery, luxury and glory. A collection of haute couture pieces as a decoration transport us to a legend character world, from art comedy to comic opera. Seductive marchionesses and courtesans, hunters of diamonds, white collar thief, exotic adventurous, frivolous lovers and capricious dancers.
Underground
The underground and labyrinthine culture of rocker, sinister and vampiresque skulls; they came from the black mass into the hard rock world in 1965 with the Grateful Dead band and they are still alive with the heavy metal, punk and and all the anti-system trends. In the museum, the skulls are elevated to the category of work of art and luxury accessories associated with expensive garments of Dior, Valentino or Paco Rabanne.
From Darkness to Light
Headlamps as hats, what an extravagant idea! It is normal in our Museum where the haute couture and automobile are combined. With a touch of light, maybe a bit peculiar, but it is normal for us because we only make extraordinary things. The tattoo is popular nowadays; here, it is associated to mechanical and artistic world with dresses from Pierre Cardin, Jacques Fath, Perry Ellis, Christophe Josse, Candinha Alves…
